Does anyone know if a chap called Paul Steer was either in Beggars Opera, or doing sessions at any time, probably in the 70's.
Paul was the drummer in a local covers band that I'm in, and he sadly died 2 weeks ago. He was the only one of us that had been a professional musician, mostly session work I think, in the past, and we're trying to trace his personal musical history.
His three great claims to fame were :
1 Being in Beggars Opera at some point,
2 Playing at Wembley - albeit with a Country and Western band as a session,
3. Playing the drum track on "Day Trip to Bangor" (Fiddler's Dram).
Now, my feeling is, if you're going to own up to the last two, the first could be true as well!!!
