Mmmmmmm ..yeah ....Beggars Opera were rehearsing/refurbishing equipment at the Hall in the playing fields at Robslee , and working on a version of Ravel's Bolero, which was performed a few times then ditched ...sadly......it was very very cool ...ahead of it's time, at that time ..wish it had been recorded though, as it would have been nice to hear it now with the mellotron and everything ..
It would have been summmer 1971, just before travelling on to Europe..
Cheerio

Hi Gordon,

Track list /Clarkston would have been roughly as with the Howff/ Watermill at the time .. early days............
http://www.beggarsopera.co.uk/node/359
and
http://www.vinyltap.co.uk/shop/artist/Beggars+Opera.aspx
for vintage Beggars.
Sometimes a bit pricey but to date I have always found the merch to be in great nick.
I was googling and I found a German copy of Act One at £ 85.00!
It is a 5 track album .. have never seen/heard about that one before!
Wierd , eh ?

Nice to hear from you ;-)
